How to use my BPI Debit Mastercard to pay in-stores

1. Simply present your card at any BancNet or Mastercard affiliated merchant.
2. Insert or tap your card in the Point-of-Sale (POS) terminal.
3. You may be asked to enter your 6-digit PIN or sign the receipt to complete the transaction.

How to start using your card online

1. Log in to BPI Online or mobile app.
2. Select "Other Services" and choose "Card Control" (under Cards).
3. Select the card you will be using for online purchases.
4. Turn on the E-Commerce access.*
5. A One-Time PIN (OTP) will be sent. Type your OTP to activate E-Commerce access.

*For security, E-Commerce Access is turned-off by default. You need to turn on your E-Commerce Access via BPI Card Control to use your card to pay online. This includes your card-on-file transactions and the first transaction of your online subscription service.

For subscription services, once your card is enrolled, succeeding payments will push thru even if your E-Commerce access is off.

Card-on-file transactions are payments processed using your BPI Debit Mastercard card number that you have stored with an online merchant or website with whom you have created an account and saved your card information.      

How to use my BPI Debit Mastercard when purchasing online

1. Have your card on hand as the merchant may ask for some of your card’s details.
2. Some merchants may also require a one-time password to complete your payment.

How do I apply for a BPI Debit Mastercard?

You may apply for a BPI Debit Mastercard at any branch.

Can I apply for a BPI Debit Mastercard online?

For now, you may apply for a debit card at any branch.

Can I request for a BPI Debit Mastercard in another branch that is not my branch of account?

Yes, you may request for a BPI Debit Mastercard at any branch.

Can I use my BPI Debit Mastercard the moment I receive it?

​​​​​​​No, you must activate your BPI Debit Mastercard first. Please refer to your card carrier for the activation steps.

Can I ask someone to claim my BPI Debit Mastercard on my behalf?

We strongly recommend that you personally claim your new BPI Debit Mastercard at your branch of account to ensure the security of your card.

However, if you're abroad and don't have plans of coming to the Philippines soon, you may assign an authorized representative to claim your card, subject to the verification and approval of the bank.

Kindly ask your authorized representative to submit the following:

• Original copy of your duly accomplished and signed BPI Letter of Authority (LOA) form or BPI Family Savings Bank LOA form.
• Original copy of your duly accomplished BPI Customer Information Sheet (CIS) or BPI Family Savings Bank CIS.
• Photocopy of cardholder's valid government-issued ID with photo and signature
• Photocopy of your current BPI Debit card (front and back)
• Original and photocopy of your authorized representative's valid government-issued ID with photo and signature

Upon receipt of the documents, we will conduct verification of your authorized representative for the security of your account. Once verified, we will advise your authorized representative when your card will be available for pick-up.

I'm an OFW. How can I replace my BPI ATM Card with a BPI Debit Mastercard?

For OFWs currently in the Philippines

Please visit any BPI branch and have your current BPI ATM card replaced with a BPI Debit Mastercard. To replace your card, please bring the following:

• One (1) original and One (1) photocopy of a valid government-issued ID with photo and signature
• Your BPI ATM card

We will also ask you to update your personal information and signature card.

For OFWs currently abroad:

You may authorize a representative to get your BPI Debit Mastercard on your behalf if you are not coming home anytime soon. Please ask your authorized representative to present one (1) copy of the following requirements:

• Original copy of your duly accomplished and signed BPI Letter of Authority (LOA) form or BPI Family Savings Bank LOA form.
• Original copy of your duly accomplished BPI Customer Information Sheet (CIS) or BPI Family Savings Bank CIS.
• Photocopy of the bio-data page of your unexpired passport or government-issued ID with photo and signature
• Photocopy of your proof of work/residence abroad
• Original and photocopy of your authorized representative's valid government-issued ID with photo and signature

This request is subject to verification and approval of the bank. We will advise your authorized representative once your card is available for pick up.

Upon claiming, your authorized representative should also submit a notarized copy of either of the following:
BPI Acknowledgement and Release form
BPI Family Savings Bank Acknowledgement and Release form

Can my representative activate my new BPI Debit Mastercard?

Upon submission of Letter of Authority (LOA), you are authorizing your representative to claim and receive your new BPI Debit Mastercard and its PIN mailer. You are also authorizing your representative to nominate and change the PIN of your new card.

Please carefully read the LOA before submission.

How do I activate my BPI Debit Mastercard?

1. Insert your BPI Debit Mastercard at a BPI ATM.
2. Enter the temporary PIN from the PIN Mailer and then select “PIN Services” from the menu.
3. Select “Change PIN” and nominate your new 6-digit PIN twice.

Once accomplished, you can now enjoy using your BPI Debit Mastercard for your daily purchases and services.

Is there a deadline for me to activate my BPI Debit Mastercard after receiving it?

Yes. You need to activate your BPI Debit Mastercard at any BPI ATM within 3 calendar days upon receiving it.

I cannot activate my BPI Debit Mastercard, what do I do?

For newly-issued cards, you need to change your PIN within 3 calendar days upon card release. If not, please request to have your temporary PIN reactivated in any branch near you. Once you have re-activated your temporary PIN, please proceed to any BPI ATM to change your PIN.

I have both card-based peso and dollar deposit accounts. Can I link them with each other?

You may get a card for both your peso and dollar deposit accounts. However, you may only link accounts to cards with accounts of the same denomination.

Does my BPI Debit Mastercard have an expiration date?

Yes, the “Valid Thru” in front of your BPI Debit Mastercard indicates the month and year of card expiry. Your card is valid until the date printed on your card. You will need to have your card renewed at any branch near you before the date indicated on your card.

What happens when my BPI Debit Mastercard expires?

Once your card has exceeded the “Valid Thru” date indicated, you won’t be able to transact using your card until you have it renewed. It is recommended that you renew your card at least 1 month before it expires. 

Where and when can I renew my BPI Debit Mastercard?

You may renew your card at any branch within 6 months before the expiry date.

How do I withdraw from my other linked accounts?

1. Go to any BPI ATM.
2. Enter your 6-digit PIN.
3. Select “Enter Withdrawal Amount”.
4. Enter the amount you wish to withdraw from.
5. Select the account you wish to withdraw from.
6. Get your cash.

Note: Your card’s withdrawal and purchase limits will not increase regardless of the number of accounts linked.

Can I use my BPI Debit Mastercard outside the Philippines?

ATMs
Yes, you can use your BPI Debit Mastercard to withdraw in the local currency of the country you are in at any Mastercard-affiliated ATM.

Point-of-Sale Terminals
Yes, you can use your BPI Debit Mastercard to pay in stores wherever Mastercard is accepted.

Online
Yes, you can use your BPI Debit Mastercard to pay online wherever Mastercard is accepted as long as you enable e-commerce for your card.

Note: Your International Access is enabled by default. You may enable/disable this via BPI Card Control at any time.

Do I need to inform BPI before I can use my BPI Debit Mastercard outside the Philippines?

You don’t need to inform BPI anymore. International Access for your BPI Debit Mastercard is already enabled when you receive your card. You may enable/disable your card’s International Access at any time via BPI Card Control.

Can I use my BPI Debit Mastercard to pay for online/app purchases or services?

Yes, the BPI Debit Mastercard can be used to pay for online/app purchases or services. Please ensure that your E-Commerce Access has been turned on.

Note: Your E-Commerce access is disabled by default. You may enable/disable this via BPI Card Control at any time.

Is there a limit for purchasing online?

Your online purchases are limited to Php 20,000 per day. This amount forms part of your card’s daily purchase limit.

What is my card limit if I have several deposit accounts linked to my BPI Debit Mastercard?

The default card limit for withdrawals and purchases is still Php 20,000 for withdrawals and Php 100,000 for Point-of-Sale purchases. Card limits will not increase regardless of how many accounts are linked to your card. You may adjust your limits via BPI Card Control in BPI Online or BPI Mobile app.

Will I be charged a fee when using my BPI Debit Mastercard?

Certain transactions, such as withdrawals at local non-BPI ATMs, and transactions done outside the Philippines for Point-of-Sale terminals and ATM, may incur transaction fees. To view the complete table of transaction fees, read here.

How do I know if my transaction at the Point-of-Sale (POS) terminal pushed through?

The Point-of-Sale (POS) terminal will indicate that your transaction is approved. A purchase slip will be printed from the POS terminal as a validation of your payment.

You can also view your transaction history in BPI Online and the BPI Mobile app.

I tried using my BPI Debit Mastercard in an ATM/store's Point-of-Sale (POS) terminal but it does not work. What are the possible reasons why my transaction did not push thru?

Your transaction may have been declined due to the following reasons:

a. Keying-in the wrong PIN.
b. Using a card that is not yet activated.
c. Having insufficient funds.

If you are still having problems transacting, please send us a message, call our 24-hour BPI Contact Center at ‎(+632) 889-10000, or visit any branch.

I did not receive a One-Time PIN (OTP) when I tried turning my E-Commerce access on, what do I do?

Kindly ensure that your mobile number registered in our records is updated.

To update your mobile number, log-in to BPI Online or the BPI Mobile app and do the following:

1. Log in to BPI Online or mobile app.
2. Select “Account Maintenance” then choose “Update Mobile Number”.
3. Input your BPI Debit Mastercard number and your new mobile number.
4. Activate your request in any BPI ATM. Your number will be updated immediately after ATM activation.

I requested for a mobile number update today, until when can I activate via ATM?

You have 5 banking days from the date of your request to activate your card via ATM.

What are the types of transactions online?

There are three (3) common types of transactions for online purchases: One-Time transaction, Card on File, and Subscription payments.

One-Time transaction – This transaction is when you input your card details every time you make a transaction.

Card on File – This transaction is where cardholder allows merchants to save/store cardholders card details. Cardholder authorizes merchant to use stored details for future transactions.

Subscription payment – This transaction is where cardholder authorizes merchant to store card details and authorizes merchant to charge the cardholder.

Note: It is best to know what type of transaction the website/app will do when you are using your card to pay.

How would I know if my online payment transaction pushed thru?

The merchant will normally give you a confirmation that your transaction is successful. You can also check your transaction history in BPI Online Banking or BPI Mobile App.

Why is my online transaction being declined?

There are a lot of reasons why your transactions may be declined. Please check on the following:

• Your e-commerce feature is disabled. For your security, this is turned off by default.
• Your card details you input are incorrect.
• Your card is inactive.
• You have insufficient funds.
• Your OTP is incorrect.

After I have successfully purchased from an online store, they advised me that they cannot accomplish/fulfill certain items/s purchased. Will the amount be credited to my account?

If the merchant informed you that they cannot fulfill some of the item/s you purchased and have advised you that it will instead be credited back to your account, please wait for 7 banking days and check if the refund has been done. If after 7 banking days have passed and payment has not been returned to your account, you may call our hotline or go to a branch to file a dispute so we can investigate your concern.

When I tried purchasing online, I was being asked for a One-Time PIN (OTP). What is this and where do I get this?

To increase security of an online transaction, some merchants may require an OTP. Your OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number with the bank. Kindly ensure that your mobile number is updated in our records.

How do I report my lost/stolen BPI Debit Mastercard?

To ensure your account is protected, you may immediately block your card in real time.

1. Log in to BPI Online.
2. Go to "Other Services" and click "Card Control".
3. Click on "Temporary block" or "Permanent lost card blocking". 
4. A One-time PIN will be sent to you. Type your OTP to confirm card blocking.

Alternatively, go to any BPI branch near you or call our 24-hour BPI Contact Center at (+632) 889-10000 and press "5" to report the card as lost/stolen so your card can be blocked immediately.

Is the BPI Card Control feature available for all BPI Debit cards?

No. The BPI Card Control feature is only available for BPI Debit Mastercard.

Where do I report disputes (such as multiple debit, incorrect amount charged, cancelled transactions, etc.) and fraud related concerns?

To report disputes and fraud-related concerns, please send us a message, call our 24-hour BPI Contact Center at ‎(+632) 889-10000, or visit any BPI branch.

Any debit card transaction dispute must be filed within sixty (60) calendar days from transaction date.

We advise you to regularly check your account and transaction history via BPI Online or BPI Mobile app.
