**Default transaction amount limit is Php 50,000, but you may transfer up to Php 250,000 per day for regular clients and Php 500,000 per day for Preferred and Private Banking clients. This limit includes cash-ins to other partner apps and websites, loading your own prepaid number and other prepaid numbers. It also includes transfers to other unenrolled BPI accounts, InstaPay transfers, pay eGov, pay on delivery, and BPI to cash.

How to transfer funds to other banks

1. Login using the BPI Mobile app.
2. Go to menu and select “Transfer Money”.
3. Select “Transfer to another bank”.
4. Select the bank you want to send money to and fill in the details.
5. You may choose any of the following options in sending money to your recipient:

a.ž By typing in your recipient’s account number
b.ž By scanning/uploading your recipient’s QR code*
c. By typing in your recipient’s bank-registered mobile number or e-mail address**

6. Confirm the details and authenticate the transaction via Mobile Key.
7. You're done!

How to create and customize your QR Code

1. Login to BPI Online or the BPI Mobile app and select “Other Services”.
2. Select “QR Generator”.
3. Select an account to generate QR code*.
4. Create a nickname for your QR Code. QR nicknames can have a maximum of 10 alphanumeric characters.
5. Enter the amount (optional).
6. Select “Generate” then “Save to Device".
7. You're done!

You may now start sending your QR code instead of giving your account number to receive InstaPay transfers*.

How to link a mobile number or email address to your BPI Online account

1. Login to BPI Online or the BPI Mobile app.
2. Go to menu and select “Other Services”.
3. Under transactions, select “Link a Mobile Number or Email”.
4. Select a deposit account to register and nominate its nickname.
5. Choose whether to link* your registered mobile number or email address to your account.
6. Check details. Tap on “Confirm”.
7. Enter your One-Time PIN (OTP), then select “Submit”.

*You can only link (1) BPI account to your email address and another BPI account to your mobile number.

What is InstaPay?

InstaPay is an interbank funds transfer service under the National Retail Payment System (NRPS) of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) which allows clients to electronically transfer funds up to Php 50,000, between their BPI account and other accounts in participating banks and financial institutions in the Philippines, anytime, anywhere.

How do I transfer money via InstaPay?

1. Login to BPI Online or the BPI Mobile app.
2. Go to menu and select “Transfer Money”.
3. Select “Transfer to another bank”.
4. Select the bank you want to send money to and fill in the details.
5. You may choose any of the following options in sending money to your recipient:

a. By typing in your recipient’s account number

What is the allowed maximum amount and number of transactions?

You can transfer up to an aggregated amount of Php 250,000* per day. This limit includes cash-ins to other partner apps and websites, load prepaid phone and prepaid card, load other prepaid, transfers to other BPI accounts (unenrolled), Instapay transfers, pay e-Gov, pay on delivery, and BPI to Cash.

*A higher limit is available to Preferred and Private Banking clients.

How much is the transaction fee?

A fee of Php 25 is charged for Instapay transfers to other banks or e-money issuers.

When is this service available?

InstaPay is available 24x7 via BPI Online and the BPI Mobile app.

When will the funds be credited to the Recipient’s Account?

Funds transferred via InstaPay will be credited to the recipient's account real-time.

In case of non-real-time credits to recipients, you may send us a message or contact our 24-hour BPI Contact Center at ‎(+632) 889-10000 to check the status of the transaction.

Which local banks can I transfer to using a QR code?

Which local banks can I transfer to using a linked mobile number or email address?

You may transfer funds using a mobile number or email address to our initial partner banks, Chinabank, RCBC, Unionbank.

Can I import the recipient’s mobile number from my phone’s contact list when transferring via InstaPay on the app?

Yes. You may choose to import a mobile number from your contacts list or manually input it on the transaction page.

What is the maximum number of characters allowed when nominating a nickname for your linked mobile number or email address?

A maximum of 20 characters is allowed in nominating a nickname.

I updated my mobile number/e-mail address and unlinked the old one from my account to link a new one. However, I was informed that an InstaPay transfer has been sent to my old mobile number. What will happen to the transaction?

Only the transactions to mobile numbers or e-mail addresses linked to an active account number will push through. In this case, since the old mobile number is already unlinked, the transaction will be rejected.

When I update my mobile number or email address, will it automatically be linked to my account to receive InstaPay transfers?

No. After successfully updating your mobile number or email address, your device will prompt you to delete your old mobile number or email address to link the updated one.

I only have one BPI account. Can I link both my e-mail address and mobile number to the said account?

Yes, you can link both of your BPI-registered e-mail address or mobile number.

I have three accounts with BPI. Can I enroll all three of them using my e-mail address and mobile number?

No. Only maximum of 2 accounts can be linked to your BPI-registered e-mail address and mobile number.

Can I share my BPI QR code to receive InstaPay transfers from other banks?

Yes. You may share your existing BPI QR code with the BPI logo in the middle to receive InstaPay transfers from select local banks*.

Take note that the newly-generated QR code will now show the QR PH logo in the middle.

Who is the clearing switch operator of InstaPay?

Bancnet is the designated clearing switch operator for InstaPay.

Can I change my BPI QR code’s nickname?

Yes. You may generate a new QR code and nominate a new nickname for it.

Are these services secured?

Yes, transactions carried through InstaPay are secured following the BSP-mandated and bank security standards.

How do we ensure the accuracy and security of the transactions?

InstaPay transfer via BPI Online and the BPI Mobile app requires authentication via Mobile Key to ensure the security of the transaction.

What are the possible purposes or types of transactions than can be made via InstaPay?

Instapay payments may be used as an alternative to direct cash payments.

a. Payments to friends or families
b. Payments that are urgent
c. Instant payments in exchange for the release of goods and services

Can InstaPay be used to transfer funds to a non-participating institution?

No, you can only make transfers between accounts maintained with InstaPay participating institutions.

What BPI accounts are eligible for InstaPay transfer service?

Regular BPI Peso Savings or Checking Account of individuals can be used as a source account for InstaPay for sending and receiving funds.

USD accounts, Time Deposit, Save-up, SBA/Merchant or Collection Accounts, and Prepaid Cards are not eligible to send/receive funds.

What are the InstaPay participating banks or financial institutions?

See the list of participating banks and financial institutions. You may also visit the BSP website to get regular updates on the participating institutions.

Can I make scheduled transactions?

No, you can only make real-time transactions.

Is it required to pre-enroll the bank accounts that will be the recipient of the funds?

No, you just need to indicate the beneficiary’s complete details when making the transaction.

Will I be notified if my transaction is succesful?

A confirmation email with the details of your successful transaction will be sent to your registered email address.

Can I request for funds to be recovered if I entered the incorrect account details and the transaction pushed through?

As long as a valid account number is provided, whether or not it is for the intended recipient, the transaction will be considered final and can no longer be cancelled. Thus, we are recommending the sending clients to verify the details to its recipients first before the actual transaction.

Will the system be able to determine if a wrong beneficiary account number or name was inputted?

No. Therefore, it is important to confirm the accuracy of the receiving account information before proceeding to send the funds.

Can I request for cancellation of the transaction?

Once your account has been debited, the transaction is considered final and can no longer be cancelled.

Will there be instances of an unsuccessful credit to the receiving bank?

Yes, below are a few instances:

a. BPI connection is down
b. Bancnet connection is down
c. Receiving bank’s connection is down
d. Account number of recipient does not exist with the receiving financial institution

What is the difference between InstaPay and PESONet?

InstaPay and PESONet are two interbank funds transfer services under the National Retail Payment System of the BSP. Here are the differentiating features of InstaPay and PESONet.

In case of rejected transactions or unsuccessful credit, when will the funds be credited back to my source account?

If the transaction is outright rejected (i.e., receiving account does not exist), it will be credited to your source account right away. However, if the recipient bank has specific concerns on the receiving account (i.e.. on-hold accounts, etc.), it will be credited back to your source account within 3 banking days. The amount that will be credited will be net of the transaction charge.
