The award highlights BPI’s strong commitment to overseas Filipinos and their families, offering reliable and accessible banking solutions that support their financial needs.

“This award is a testament to our commitment to overseas Filipinos. Our recognition highlights the extensive reach of our remittance tie-ups and the proactive guidance provided by our dedicated BPI team in the UAE. We view every remittance transaction not just as a transfer of funds, but as a vital gateway that opens up deeper banking opportunities, allowing our clients to achieve financial empowerment wherever they are,” said Joel De Vera, Head of Strategy, Products, and Support Group of BPI Institutional Banking.

Beyond remittances, BPI stays active in the Filipino community in the UAE, working with Filipino organizations to distribute financial education materials, and attending major gatherings like the Dubai Barrio Fiesta, with upcoming participation in the Philippine Independence Day celebrations this June. Earlier this year, BPI also co sponsored a Ramadan promotion with select remittance partners to offer added value to clients.

The Gintong Ani Awards also recognized BPI country representatives in the UAE for leadership excellence. Emerson Alcoreza, Managing Director of the BPI Representative Office in Dubai, was conferred the Leadership in Banking and Regional Management Award, citing his dedication to guiding the bank with vision, integrity, and service excellence. Randall Asejo and Cloyd Dela Cruz were also honored with the Country Representative Leadership Awards for their significant contributions to building strategic partnerships, empowering communities, and delivering real value to clients and stakeholders.

Among the key benefits for OFWs banking with BPI is BPI Pamana Padala, the only remittance account that includes free personal accident insurance coverage of up to PHP 100,000 for 90 days, along with life insurance protection for the account holder and their immediate family beneficiaries. This unique feature ensures that remittances provide not just financial support, but also meaningful protection and peace of mind.

In addition, BPI Padala Moneyger helps families in the Philippines better manage funds by encouraging the separation of “spending money” from “savings,” promoting more disciplined financial habits.

Through the BPI app, OFWs maintain total control over their finances. They can track remittances, pay Philippine bills, and transfer funds to other banks or e-wallets anytime, anywhere in the world. Account holders also enjoy special rates and waived fees through BPI’s network of global partners in the UAE.

As BPI marks its 175th anniversary this year, clients can be assured that their hard-earned money is safeguarded by the strength, stability, and enduring legacy of the Philippines’ first bank.
