Last May 14, BPIF and De La Salle - Lipa signed a memorandum of agreement establishing their collaboration and shared commitment to helping communities in Batangas build financial literacy skills through the Foundation’s flagship financial education program, FinEd Unboxed.
“This collaboration marks a significant step toward our goal of ‘Kasama Lahat sa Pag-Unlad.’ By partnering with De La Salle - Lipa, whose credibility in education is well established, we are confident that we can extend our financial education program to more people in Batangas, empowering them with the knowledge and tools for financial growth,” said Carmina Marquez, BPIF Executive Director.

The FinEd Unboxed program is designed to help beneficiaries gain a deeper understanding of how to manage their finances effectively. The learning session will cover basic personal finance concepts such as budgeting, saving, and investing, providing participants with a solid foundation to take control of their financial future.
BPIF will also use the Breakthrough App, an interactive digital game that features various concepts of personal finance, to make learning more engaging during the FinEd sessions.
“We incorporate interactive tools as a strategic approach to keep our participants engaged and ensure a deeper understanding of the topics. This method allows us to deliver financial education more effectively, creating a more meaningful and lasting impact,” Marquez added.
De La Salle - Lipa is the third school partner of BPIF for the FinEd Unboxed program this year. The initiative is expected to benefit 1,800 students, teachers, and community partners from Batangas. In 2024, BPIF already reached 3.2 million beneficiaries through its financial education programs.
Last February, the Foundation also partnered with Mapua Malayan Colleges Mindanao, its first school partner, to empower communities in the Davao region through financial literacy training and capacity-building initiatives.
BPIF is committed to collaborating with educational institutions to advance financial empowerment in underserved communities. Through the FinEd Unboxed and Breakthrough App, BPIF aims to foster a culture of financial wellness and help uplift the lives of Filipinos.
