To strengthen the security of your accounts and financial transactions, BPI has released an updated version of the BPI app.

Some Android users may see a “Device security compromised” message when opening the app. If you encounter this prompt, please apply the following to continue using the BPI app safely:

1. Open your device’s app store and make sure the BPI app is updated.

2. Go to Settings > Accessibility and turn off the following accessibility features:

a. TalkBack

b. Assistant Menu (under Interaction & Dexterity)

Note: Samsung users who use assistive menu apps can install the Good Lock app and turn on One Hand Operation+. This feature lets you use swipe gestures for shortcuts and custom controls, making one-handed use easier.

Here's how:

i. Install the Good Lock app from the Google Play Store or Galaxy Store.

ii. Open the app, then install One Hand Operation+.

iii. Open One Hand Operation+ and switch it on.

iv. Customize gestures as needed for easier navigation.

If the issue persists, please follow these additional steps for troubleshooting:

1. Temporarily disable antivirus app permissions in Settings > Apps > [Your Antivirus App] > Permissions.

2. Disable accessibility services for McAfee, Norton, or Call Recorders in Settings > Accessibility > Installed Apps.

3. Toggle “Display Over Other Apps” OFF for the BPI app in Settings > Search “Display Over Other Apps” > BPI app.

Special Instructions for Samsung Users

You may use the BPI app inside Secure Folder for added protection:

A. Activate Secure Folder

1. Go to Settings > Biometrics and Security > Secure Folder to activate this feature.

2. Sign in to your Samsung Account, then set a lock type (PIN, pattern, or password).

B. Add the BPI app to the Secure Folder

1. Open Secure Folder, tap the plus (+) icon, and add the BPI app.

2. Close all running apps on your device before opening the BPI app from inside the Secure Folder.

Additional Safety Tips for BPI app Users

Install Wisely: Only download apps from official app stores and avoid those that ask for excessive permissions.

Antivirus Conflicts: Some antivirus apps may interfere with the BPI app and cause crashes or login issues. Disable overlays and real-time scanning during your banking session to avoid disruptions.
