The Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) recorded Php 1.81 billion in total disbursements through its earned wage access solutions—BPI Salary On-Demand and Sweldo On the Spot—by the end of 2025. The milestone highlights the growing need among Filipino workers for faster, safer, and more flexible access to their hard-earned pay.
Designed to meet the evolving needs of today’s workforce, BPI’s earned wage solutions allow employees to receive a portion of the salary they have already earned, before the usual payday—helping them manage day-to-day expenses, address emergencies, and avoid high-interest loans. Through BPI Salary On-Demand, employees of partner companies can instantly withdraw their earned wages via the PayWage app. Meanwhile, Sweldo On the Spot enables qualified BPI Payroll accountholders to withdraw their salary anytime, conveniently through the same platform.
“Earned wage access gives employees control over the salary they’ve already earned,” said Rally Jereza, Head of Agency Banking. “By providing timely access to income, employees are less likely to rely on costly, short-term borrowing. This milestone shows that more employers and employees are embracing smarter, healthier ways to manage cash flow.”
As workplaces continue to evolve, BPI sees earned wage access as a key part of modern employee benefits—one that supports productivity, reduces financial stress, and strengthens overall financial wellness. By integrating these solutions into payroll systems, the Bank helps employers care for their people while promoting responsible money management.
This achievement comes on the heels of BPI’s recognition at the Asian Innovation Excellence Awards 2025, where both BPI Salary On-Demand and Sweldo On the Spot were named Philippines’ “Customer-Centric Innovation of the Year – Financial Services”. The award affirms the Bank’s commitment to designing inclusive, practical financial solutions that respond to real-life needs.
As it continues to expand its financial services, BPI champions human-centered banking—where innovation is measured not just by technology, but by the positive impact it creates in everyday lives.
