The Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI), through its social development arm, BPI Foundation (BPIF) has partnered with La Salle Green Hills (LSGH) to expand access to financial education in underserved communities through the FinEd Unboxed Program.

(L-R): BPI Foundation’s Manolo Nava, Senior Program Manager and Carmina Marquez, Executive Director; with La Salle Greenhills’ Emmanuel Bautista, Executive Vice President; Josefina Burgos, Vice President for Lasallian Formation; and Michael Gurung, Social Action Coordinator.

The partnership highlights both institutions’ shared mission to advance education, promote financial wellness, and empower Filipino communities through sustainable and inclusive programs. Under this initiative, BPIF and LSGH will work together to integrate financial literacy into community-based learning efforts, particularly in LSGH’s adopted communities in Kalinga, Apayao, Cavite, and Zambales.

The collaboration seeks to equip individuals with essential financial management skills—such as budgeting, saving, responsible borrowing, entrepreneurship, and protecting themselves from scams—that can help uplift their quality of life and strengthen community resilience.

“Our partnership with La Salle Green Hills reflects our shared goal of empowering communities through education. Through this collaboration, we hope to strengthen the positive impact of their efforts and contribute to improving access to education in underserved areas,” said Carmina Marquez, BPIF Executive Director.

The Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing was attended by key representatives from both institutions. Representing LSGH were Emmanuel Bautista, Executive Vice President; Josefina Burgos, Vice President for Lasallian Mission; and Michael Gurung, Social Action Coordinator. From BPIF, attendees included Carmina Marquez, Executive Director; Manolo Nava, Senior Program Manager for Financial Education and Arts Management; and Gladys Malapo, Program Manager for Financial Education.

“At La Salle Green Hills, we believe that education goes beyond the classroom—it is about shaping individuals who can positively influence their communities,” said Emmanuel Bautista, Executive Vice President of LSGH. “This partnership with BPI Foundation allows us to extend our Lasallian mission of service by empowering families and communities through financial literacy.”

The partnership with LSGH marks the sixth collaboration between BPIF and an educational institution in 2025, underscoring the Foundation’s growing network of academic partners dedicated to promoting inclusive and sustainable development through financial education.
