To strengthen the security of your accounts and financial transactions, BPI has released an updated version of the BPI app.
Some Android users may see a “Device security compromised” message when opening the app. If you encounter this prompt, please refer to the troubleshooting guide below for steps on how to resolve the issue.
1. Disable the Allowed Permissions of Your Antivirus App
- Go to Settings > Apps > [Your antivirus app, e.g., Bitdefender, 360 Security, Avast, AVG] > Permissions and temporarily disable the app permissions before retrying to access the application.
2. Turn Off All Installed Apps in Accessibility Settings
- Go to Settings > Accessibility > Installed Apps and disable apps like McAfee.
Special Instructions for Samsung Users
You may use the BPI app inside Secure Folder for added protection:
A. Activate Secure Folder
1. Go to Settings > Biometrics and Security > Secure Folder to activate this feature.
2. Sign in to your Samsung Account, then set a lock type (PIN, pattern, or password).
B. Add the BPI app to the Secure Folder
1. Open Secure Folder, tap the plus (+) icon, and add the BPI app.
2. Close all running apps on your device before opening the BPI app from inside the Secure Folder.
Additional Safety Tips for BPI app Users
Install Wisely: Only download apps from official app stores and avoid those that ask for excessive permissions.
Antivirus Conflicts: Some antivirus apps may interfere with the BPI app and cause crashes or login issues. Disable overlays and real-time scanning during your banking session to avoid disruptions.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we continue to improve your digital banking experience.
