When you’re packing for a trip, the basics like passport, tickets, and toiletries are usually top-of-mind. But there’s one essential thing that often slips under the radar: travel insurance. It isn’t only a nice-to-have, but a financial safety net that ensures you don’t encounter costly surprises during your journey.
If you booked your trips with your BPI Credit Card, you’d automatically enjoy complimentary travel insurance. Here are five things to take note of.
1. How can I get covered?
Simply use any of the following cards to purchase tickets or services for air, land, and sea travel to automatically enjoy free travel insurance from BPI MS.
2. What is the maximum insurance coverage?
The maximum insurance coverage depends on the type of card you have.
Type of Credit Card | Maximum Coverage |
---|---|
BPI Signature Card | PHP 20 million |
BPI Platinum Rewards Card | PHP 10 million |
BPI Gold Rewards Card | PHP 10 million |
BPI Rewards Card | PHP 2 million |
For more information, visit the BPI Credit Cards page.
3. Who are covered?
Principal and supplementary cardholders who are under 70 years old are covered. Their companions aged 1-21 who are not employed are covered likewise.
4. What modes of transport are covered?
Most trips and rides you paid for using your BPI Credit Card are covered.
For rent-a-car services, particularly, journeys of at least 60 kilometers from the point of origin are covered. Take note, though, that this excludes such services offered by TNVS (transport network vehicle service) providers.
5. What is the coverage period?
The insurance coverage, which is on a per trip basis, starts once you check-in for your flight or board other modes of transportation and ends once you disembark.
It isn’t only a nice-to-have, but a financial safety net that ensures you don’t encounter costly surprises during your journey.
