🌏 What is a carbon footprint?

Every action we take leaves a mark on the planet. The energy we use, the food we eat, and the way we travel all contribute to what’s called our carbon footprint—the total amount of greenhouse gases released into the atmosphere through our daily activities.

In the Philippines, where extreme weather and rising temperatures are already visible signs of climate change, being aware of our carbon footprint helps us make more responsible choices.

💡 Start With Energy Efficiency

Electricity consumption is one of the biggest sources of carbon emissions in households. You can make a difference by switching to LED bulbs, using energy-efficient appliances, and unplugging idle electronics. Setting your air conditioner to 25°C also reduces both energy use and cost.

🚲 Move Smarter

Transportation contributes significantly to carbon emissions. Whenever possible, walk, bike, or take public transport. If driving, plan your trips efficiently or carpool with others. Supporting local reforestation or tree-planting projects can also help offset emissions from travel.

🛍️Choose Local and Low-Impact Products

Buying locally made goods reduces the environmental cost of shipping while supporting Filipino producers. It’s a simple yet impactful way to help lower emissions and strengthen the local economy.

Each small action adds up. By being aware of our carbon impact and making smarter choices, we can help shape a cleaner, greener Philippines for future generations.
