In support of the Department of Education’s (DepEd) Palarong Pambansa 2025, Legazpi Savings Bank (LSB), a subsidiary of the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI), joined the national sporting event as a committed partner in empowering both students and communities. Held at Ilocos Norte, this year’s Palarong Pambansa gathered over 15,000 student-athletes, 5,000 delegates, and more than 50,000 spectators and guests from 17 regions across the Philippines.
LSB proudly supported the Palarong Pambansa 2025, graced by President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos, Jr., Sr. Deputy Majority Floor Leader and Representative of the First District of Ilocos Norte Sandro Marcos, and Ilocos Norte Governor Matthew Manotoc.
“We at LSB are proud to be part of Palarong Pambansa 2025. Supporting students in their athletic journey and the teachers who guide them is another way we help shape a better Philippines—one family, one school, one community at a time,” said Jerome Minglana, LSB President.

In close coordination with DepEd and the Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte, LSB also held a ceremonial turnover of bags for student-athletes at San Nicolas Elementary School in Ilocos Norte, reaffirming its commitment to supporting Filipino learners beyond the classroom through sportsmanship and holistic development.

In addition, LSB served as a main exhibitor and sponsor of the Trade Fair organized by the Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte (PGIN). LSB supported the province’s Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) unit to showcase their products and services, supporting small businesses to grow and thrive during the week-long national event. The Trade Fair brought together at least 200 MSMEs.
Backed by BPI’s strength and digital capabilities, LSB offers fast and easy access to credit through its Teacher Loan programs, designed specifically to empower Filipino educators and entrepreneurs. With just one payslip, one valid ID (PRC, School ID, UMID/E-card), and accomplished Automatic Payroll Deduction System (APDS) loan form, clients can get loan approvals with crediting as fast as one minute.
LSB engaged teachers and participants at the Palarong Pambansa 2025, promoting financial wellness and accessible loan products.
In 2024, LSB recorded a 41% increase in loan releases, a strong indicator of growing trust and demand. With the Teacher’s Loan offer now available in over 1,000 BPI and BanKo branches nationwide, the bank anticipates even stronger performance in 2025.
