The new Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) head office, designed by Aedas Singapore, won the Silver award for ‘Best Workplace Design’ at the 2023 Design Excellence Awards—an annual design competition organized by the Interior Design Confederation Singapore (IDCS).

BPI aims to enhance collaboration, inspire creativity, and attract and retain talents by offering a workspace which supports employee satisfaction and engagement. Through the collaboration between BPI’s Facilities Services and Management Team and Aedas Singapore, a leading international architecture and design practice, the bank has been able to create a safe working environment that promotes productivity, innovation, and employee well-being.

“We want our employees to feel that we are a family, and one of the best ways of making them feel that is by providing a space that makes them feel they are treated like one. Nowadays, in the era of making everything aesthetically pleasing, having a nice environment is essential as it inspires excellence and productivity,” said TG Limcaoco, BPI President and CEO.

“When employees are happy and inspired, this translates to better service not only to clients but also to the community they belong,” Limcaoco added.

The Design Excellence Awards recognizes individuals and firms across the Asia Pacific region which have significantly contributed to good design thinking and visualizing the future of spatial design. It features two sections: the Interior Design Excellence Awards (IDEA), which spotlights completed built projects by industry professionals; and the Spatial Design Awards (SPADE), which highlights completed academic projects by design students.

BPI competed against 24 other finalists in the ‘Best Workplace Design’ category. The winning projects were selected by a panel of renowned interior design professionals, including Barbara Barry, Colin Seah, Thomas Pheasant, Marc Almagro, Amy Picanco, and Cameron Woo.

“The team’s dedication, creative prowess, collaborative energy, and commitment to excellence have raised our workspace standards to new heights. This recognition further cements BPI’s position as an employer of choice among Philippine financial institutions,” Limcaoco said.

Committed to providing the best workplace for its people, BPI transferred various head office units—formerly located in Ayala North Exchange, Insular Life, and Makati Stock Exchange—to the new head office in Makati City at the Ayala Triangle Gardens Tower 2 in mid-2023.

BPI’s Head Office in Makati City features state-of-the-art facilities and amenities.

The BPI office allows employees to effectively manage workspace assets anywhere to increase productivity and achieve organizational and sustainability goals.
