The Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) is set to hold the third edition of the Cybersecurity and Consumer Protection Conference this July, reaffirming its commitment to advancing the nation’s digital security and public awareness on cyber threats.
Happening on July 30, 2025 at the Makati Shangri-La, this year’s conference carries the theme “Global Best Practices in Consumer Protection: New Threats and New Defenses.” The event aims to spotlight international strategies and solutions to help stakeholders strengthen their cybersecurity posture and effectively address evolving digital threats.
BPI President and CEO TG Limcaoco said the gathering will bring together cybersecurity experts, government leaders, industry pioneers, and seasoned speakers from across the globe, offering participants a unique opportunity to learn directly from international thought leaders.
“At BPI, we take our role in protecting our customers seriously. As threats continue to evolve, collaboration and education are more critical than ever. This year’s Cybersecurity and Consumer Conference is our commitment to sharing global best practices and strengthening collective defenses to safeguard not just individual consumers but the broader financial ecosystem,” said Limcaoco.
“Through this collaboration, we aim to give Filipinos greater peace of mind, and support our vision of positioning the Philippines as a global leader in cybersecurity,” Limcaoco added.
Despite Philippines’ improvement in the 2024 United Nations Global Cybersecurity Index (GCI), moving up to 53rd from 61st in 2020 due to growing efforts to strengthen its defenses, there is still a need to be proactive with the evolving digital landscape.
