Investment 101

Unit Investment Trust Funds (UITF) and Mutual Funds are regulated collective investment schemes. 

A UITF is regulated by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP). It is an open-end pooled trust fund operated and administered by a trust entity, such as BPI Wealth – A Trust Corporation (BPI Wealth), in accordance with the BSP-approved Plan Rules or Declaration of Trust. A mutual fund is an open-end investment company registered with and regulated by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) managed and distributed by duly regulated entities such as BPI Wealth. 

Investment funds are NOT deposit products and are not insured by PDIC. Earnings are not assured, and the principal is at risk of loss. These products cannot be sold unless their risks and benefits are fully explained.  They are not guaranteed or insured by BPI Wealth, BPI, or their affiliates and/or subsidiaries.
