BPI celebrated Filipino culture and creativity through hosting Art Fair Philippines 2025 at Ayala Triangle Gardens in Makati last February 21 to 23, 2025. In partnership with Tatler Philippines, BPI Gold clients attended the three-day event who were all given complimentary access to the viewing of the many different art exhibitions within the museum, offering an intimate and curated cultural experience.
As the fair moved from its iconic car park venue at The Link to open-air tents at Ayala Triangle with additional spaces located at the nearby Mandarin Oriental, this year’s event deliberately focused on celebrating the local art scene rather than trying to appeal towards Western blue chip galleries, labeling the fair “proudly local”, says Trickie Lopa, co-founder of Art Fair Philippines.
In between their art tour, guests visited the BPI Gold Lounge, beautifully decorated with handwoven textiles by artist Siriusdan. They also enjoyed specially curated cocktails from Proudly Promdi.
BPI Gold clients were warmly welcomed with complimentary refreshments and vintage Polaroid snapshots upon presenting their invitation. BPI Gold clients and their guests also enjoyed a selection of cocktails and mocktails from the Filipino cocktail bar Proudly Promdi, featuring drinks infused with local flavors such as coconut water, Vigan basi, and Agimat vodka. These curated refreshments set the tone for an evening rooted in tradition and local artistry.
BPI Gold Clients’ Exclusive Fair Preview
BPI Gold clients also enjoyed an exclusive preview of the featured artworks at Art Fair Philippines, gaining privileged access on February 20—one day before the fair officially opened to the public on February 21.
Kenneth Esguerra, Ayala Museum’s Head of Conservations and Senior Curator, expertly guides guests through the BPI Private Art Tour, showcasing iconic works by Filipino masters such as Juan Luna and Fernando Amorsolo.
Now on its 12th edition, the art fair showcases over 50 galleries by a dynamic mix of local and international artists across various disciplines and mediums. The 48 exhibits featured works from Japan, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, Spain, and the Philippines, highlighting both established and emerging talents. Artists such as Manny Garibay, Manuel Ocampo, Goldie Poblador, Ryan Rubio, Jezzel Wee, and Spy Studio were among the key figures.
The BPI Gold and Art Fair Philippines hosted a panel discussion moderated by Trickie Lopa, co-founder of Art Fair Philippines. The talk featured insights from Christoph Noe, co-founder of Larry’s List, and Ning Chong, founder of the Family Office for Art (FOFA). Together, they delved into an in-depth exploration of the art industry, strategies for art collection management, and the dynamic evolution of private art museums.
This event reflects BPI Gold’s commitment to offering clients exclusive access to curated events that not only elevate their lifestyle but also give meaningful and enriching experiences through arts and culture. BPI Gold has been consistent with this thrust, which is evident in the past events that they held as well such as the exclusive viewing of the International Fernando Zóbel Exhibition and the Museum Foundation of the Philippines.
