- BPI Debit EMV Cirrus Red
EMV is the global standard for card payments. It uses chip card technology to ensure that every transaction is secure.
Shop, present your card at the cashier, and key in your PIN.
Transact in all BPI, BancNet, and Cirrus-affiliated ATMs locally and abroad.
ATMs (Cirrus)
You can use your BPI Debit EMV Cirrus card to withdraw in the local currency of the country that you are in at any Cirrus-affiliated ATM.
Point-of-sale (POS) terminals / in-store payments
You cannot use your BPI Debit EMV Cirrus card at POS terminals for in-store payments abroad.
The BPI Debit EMV Cirrus Red and Gold variants have the same basic features as the old BPI ATM Debit card. The difference is the additional security features provided by the EMV chip. You can use it to withdraw from BPI ATMs, BancNet ATMs locally, and from Cirrus-affiliated ATMs internationally. You may also use the card to pay in-store at selected Point-of-Sale (POS) terminals locally.
Here are the features of the BPI EMV Debit Cirrus cards:
EMV Chip - EMV card technology makes your transactions more secure than magstripe cards; EMV chipped cards use dynamic data to ensure that every transaction is secure.
Expiration Date - The “Valid Thru” on the face of your BPI Debit EMV Cirrus card indicates the month and year of card expiry. It has seven (7) year validity. When your card expires, you will need to have your card renewed at any branch.
New Card Design - EMV-enabled BPI Debit cards now come in a new red card design; current Gold BPI Debit cards have the same gold card design as the existing Gold BPI ATM Debit Card, but with an EMV chip.
• Local Point-of-sale (POS) Payments - pay in-store at EPS and BancNet affiliated Point-of-Sale (POS) terminals
• Local ATM Access - transact at any BPI or BancNet affiliated ATM in the Philippines
• International ATM Access (Cirrus) - withdraw through Cirrus affiliated ATMs worldwide (requires activation of International Access)
You can use your BPI Debit EMV Cirrus card to withdraw in the local currency of the country that you are in at any Cirrus-affiliated ATM.
Note: BPI Debit EMV Cirrus card cannot be used at Point-of-Sale terminals for in-store payments abroad.
EPS stands for “Express Payment System.” It is the system of BPI that allows you to use your BPI Debit EMV Cirrus card to pay in-store; it is the system through which the amount of your purchase is debited from your deposit account to the merchant.
The EPS and BancNet logos are acceptance markers that signify that the establishment accepts BPI Debit EMV Cirrus cards for debit payments.
Yes, you must inform BPI that you want to activate your card’s International Access by calling 889-10000 (all areas with “02” area code), 1-800-188-89100 (domestic toll-free for PLDT) and +632 889-10000 (mobile phone and international calls).
Certain transactions will incur fees such as transactions at non-BPI ATMs and international transactions. To view the complete table of transaction fees, read here.
Yes. Please visit any branch to replace your magstripe cards with a BPI Debit Mastercard. This will allow you to enjoy upgraded security features and new payment functions such as online payments and international in-store purchases.
A “Do Not Honor” transaction message appears at the ATM when an EMV-enabled ATM cannot read the chip on your BPI Debit EMV Cirrus card. As a security policy, BPI does not accept transactions done on an EMV-enabled ATM that cannot read the chip on your debit card. Please try using your card at other ATMs.
If the problem persists even in other ATMs, please visit any branch to have your card replaced.
For inquiries and comments, send us a message or call our 24-hour BPI Contact Center at (+632) 889-10000.
