The BPI Real Thrills Rewards Program Terms and Conditions

BPI Credit cardholders can redeem goods and services using the rewards points earned through the Real Thrills Rewards Program. BPI Credit cardholders can earn the rewards points every time they use their credit card for purchases. Below are the terms and conditions governing the Real Thrills Rewards Program.


I. Real Thrills Rewards Regular


A. General Policies


1. The following BPI Credit Card types may earn Real Thrills Rewards Regular Points:
a. BPI Blue Mastercard;
b. BPI Gold Mastercard;
c. BPI Edge Mastercard;
d. BPI Corporate Mastercard;
e. BPI Corporate Classic; and
f. BPI e-Credit Mastercard


2. A Real Thrills Rewards Regular Point is the unit of value earned from using a qualified BPI Credit card. Unredeemed rewards points earned on the first statement cut-off starting February 2004 will continue to accumulate for redemption. Rewards points may only be used to redeem goods and services featured in the Real Thrills Rewards Regular catalog.


3. Redeemed Gifts will be delivered to the cardholder’s latest mailing address, mobile number or email address of record, whichever is appropriate, unless otherwise specified.


4. The Terms and Conditions governing the issuance and use of the BPI Credit card are hereby incorporated by reference and shall form an integral part thereof.


B. Eligibility and Participation


1. All BPI Credit cardholders of BPI Blue Mastercard, Gold Mastercard, Edge Mastercard, Corporate Mastercard, Corporate Classic, and e-Credit Mastercard automatically earn rewards points from charged spending without any expense on enrolment charges or fees.


2. Real Thrills Rewards Regular Points earned by the Principal and/or Supplementary cardholder shall be credited to the Principal cardholder's account and shall be reflected in the monthly Statement of Account or other alternative modes of reporting.


3. BPI reserves the right to suspend or disqualify any person from further participation in Real Thrills Rewards Regular Program, if in its judgment, that person has violated the terms and conditions herein or has violated the terms and conditions governing the issuance and use of BPI Credit card. Suspension or disqualification may result in the cancellation of the individual's right of participation and/or the forfeiture of all rewards points earned.


C. Accumulation of Rewards Points


1. Real Thrills Rewards Regular Points conversion is as follows:


a. 1 point for every P35 charged to BPI Blue Mastercard, Gold Mastercard and e-Credit Mastercard; and
b. 1 point for every P50 charged to BPI Edge Mastercard, Corporate Classic and Corporate Mastercard


2. Charges eligible to earn Real Thrills Rewards Regular Points include purchases in the Philippines and abroad, cash advances, and Special Installment Plan (SIP) Merchant monthly amortizations.


3. Transactions less than P35 (for BPI Blue Mastercard, Gold Mastercard and e-Credit Mastercard) or P50 (for BPI Edge Mastercard, Corporate Classic and Corporate Mastercard), gaming transactions, amortizations from Special Installment Plan (SIP) Loans (Balance Transfer, Balance Conversion, Credit to Cash, SIP for Hospitals and SIP for Schools), annual fees, finance or interest charges on both regular and cash advance transactions, late payment charges, disputed transactions, credit transaction adjustments, and all fees related to card replacement and cash advance shall not be eligible to earn Real Thrills Rewards  Regular Points.


4. Real Thrills Rewards Regular Points may be earned from other activities deemed appropriate and will be announced from time to time through electronic direct mailers, SMS advisories, flyers, Statements of Account, or such other means as BPI may consider appropriate and effective.


5. BPI may, at its sole discretion, include and/or remove certain transactions from points eligibility without prior notice.


6. Real Thrills Rewards Regular Points earned by a cardholder using a BPI Credit card cannot be pooled with nor transferred to another principal cardholder.


7. Real Thrills Rewards Regular Points accumulated and redeemed will be reflected in the monthly Statement of Account of the Principal cardholder. If not disputed within thirty (30) days from receipt, Real Thrills Rewards Regular Points as reflected in the monthly Statement of Account shall be deemed correct.


8. Real Thrills Rewards Regular Points accumulation will be stopped for blocked BPI Credit card accounts due to lost cards from the date of report of loss. Transactions made with the replacement BPI Credit card will resume rewards points accumulation.


9. Fraudulent earning or redemption of Real Thrills Rewards Regular Points may result in forfeiture of available points as well as cancellation of the cardholder's BPI Credit card.


10. BPI reserves the right to adjust the required Real Thrills Rewards Regular Points to redeem without prior notice.


II. Real Thrills Rewards Premium


A. General Policies


1. The following BPI Credit Card types may earn Real Thrills Rewards Premium Points:
a. BPI Platinum Rewards Mastercard;
b. BPI Visa Signature Card.


2. A Real Thrills Rewards Premium Point is the unit of value earned from using  a qualified BPI Credit card. Unredeemed Real Thrills Rewards Premium Points earned on the first statement cut-off starting July 2018 will continue to accumulate for redemption. Real Thrills Rewards Premium Points may only be used to redeem goods and services featured in the Real Thrills Rewards Premium catalog.


3. Redeemed Gifts will be delivered to the cardholder’s latest address, mobile number or email address of record, whichever is appropriate, unless otherwise specified.


4. The Terms and Conditions governing the issuance and use of the BPI Credit Cards, the Supplemental Terms and Conditions for BPI Platinum Rewards Mastercard Benefits and Privileges, and the BPI Visa Signature Card Benefits and Privileges Terms and Conditions are hereby incorporated herein by reference and shall form an integral part hereof.


B. Eligibility and Participation


1. All BPI Credit cardholders of BPI Platinum Rewards Mastercard and BPI Visa Signature Card automatically earn Real Thrills Rewards Premium Points from charged spending without any expense on enrolment charges or fees.

Suspension or disqualification may result in the cancellation of the cardholder’s right of participation and/or the forfeiture of all rewards points earned.


C. Accumulation of Rewards Points


1. Real Thrills Rewards Premium Points conversion is as follows:
a. 1 point for every Php30 peso-denominated purchase or 1 point for every Php20 equivalent of a USD converted purchase charged to BPI Platinum Rewards Mastercard
b. 1 point for every Php20 charged to BPI Visa Signature Card, for both peso and non-peso denominated purchase.


2. Charges eligible to earn Real Thrills Rewards Premium Points include purchases in the Philippines and abroad, cash advances, and Special Installment Plan (SIP) Merchant monthly amortizations.


3. Transactions less than Php30 on peso-denominated purchase or Php 20 on USD converted  purchase (for BPI Platinum Rewards Mastercard), or Php20 (for BPI Visa Signature Card), gaming transactions, amortizations from Special Installment Plan (SIP) Loans (Balance Transfer, Balance Conversion, Credit to Cash, SIP for Hospitals and SIP for Schools), annual fees, finance or interest charges on both regular and cash advance transactions, late payment charges, disputed transactions, credit transaction adjustments, and all fees related to card replacement and cash advance shall not be eligible to earn Real Thrills Rewards Premium Points.


4. Real Thrills Rewards Premium Points may be earned from other activities deemed appropriate and will be announced from time to time through electronic direct mailers, SMS advisories, flyers, Statements of Account, or such other means as BPI may consider appropriate and effective.


5. BPI may, at its sole discretion, include and/or remove certain transactions from points eligibility without prior notice.


6. Real Thrills Rewards Premium cannot be pooled nor transferred to another principal cardholder.


7. Real Thrills Rewards Premium Points accumulated and redeemed will be reflected in the monthly Statement of Account of the Principal cardholder. If not disputed within thirty (30) days from receipt of the monthly Statement of Account, the rewards points reflected therein shall be deemed correct.


8. Real Thrills Rewards Premium Points accumulation will be suspended for blocked accounts due to lost cards from the date of report of loss. Rewards point accumulation, if any, shall resume upon replacement of the lost card.


9. Fraudulent earning or redemption of Real Thrills Rewards Premium Points may result in the forfeiture of earned points as well as the immediate cancellation of the cardholder's credit card without need of notice.


10. BPI reserves the right to adjust the required Real Thrills Rewards Premium Points to redeem as may be necessary without prior notice.


III. Redemption


A. Redemption Channels
Redemption of points can be made anytime by doing any of the following:


1. Calling our 24-hour BPI Contact Center:

d. International Toll-free Numbers


2. Emailing redemption requests to help@bpi.com.ph and indicate the following:
a. Indicate in the email subject “Rewards Redemption”
b. In the body, provide the following details: Customer Number, Customer Name, Item Code, and Number of points for conversion
 
3. Coordinating with the Relationship Manager or branch of account


B. BPI Real Thrills Rewards Regular and BPI Real Thrills Rewards Premium Redemption


1. Only the Principal cardholder is eligible to redeem rewards points.


2. Real Thrills Rewards points are eligible for redemption only for accounts that are current and in good credit standing, (i.e. card must not be delinquent, suspended, blocked or cancelled) at the time of redemption.


3. Cardholders with a closed account can redeem available rewards points within 60 days from closure provided that the account was in good credit standing at the time of closure. Unused rewards points will be forfeited after 60 days from the date of voluntary or involuntary cancellation.


4. Once a valid redemption request has been made, this cannot be cancelled, revoked or changed, unless stated otherwise.


5. A cardholder who requests for redemption of Real Thrills points authorizes BPI to give necessary information (including personal information) to merchants, program partners and service providers in order to perform or complete the redemption process and delivery. The cardholder consents and authorizes BPI and its respective employees, officers, authorized representatives, agents, as well as merchants, program partners, service providers, and third parties providing services in the redemption process and delivery (collectively, the “Permitted Recipients”), under an obligation of confidentiality, to collect, use, store, consolidate, process, disclose and share any information relating to the cardholder, made available to or in possession of BPI, for the purpose of allowing it to approve, manage, facilitate, administer, implement, and provide the transactions and services availed of by the cardholder, in compliance with the requirements of applicable laws, government regulations, judicial or supervisory bodies of the Philippines or those of other jurisdictions. The cardholder’s availment of the Real Thrills Rewards Program comes with his/her express consent under the applicable confidentiality and data privacy laws of the Philippines and other jurisdictions, and cardholder agrees to hold BPI and the Permitted Recipients free and harmless from any and all liabilities, claims, damages, suits, costs and expenses resulting from or in connection with the implementation or exercise of the authorities conferred herein.


C. Conditions for Gifts


1. All Real Thrills Rewards Gifts featured in the Real Thrills Rewards Regular Catalog and Real Thrills Rewards Premium Catalog, as the case may be, are subject to availability and are offered only while stocks last. BPI may, without notice, remove and/or replace Real Thrills Rewards items with equivalent value and nature, at its sole discretion.


2. Once the Real Thrills Rewards Gift has been claimed, the relevant supplier’s/merchant’s Terms and Conditions will apply.


3. Real Thrills Rewards Gifts must be redeemed/used within the applicable redemption period if they are subject to a validity period as stated in the relevant supplier’s/merchant's terms and conditions.


4. Undelivered Real Thrills Rewards Gifts must be reported to BPI Contact Center within sixty (60) days from expected delivery date. BPI will not be obliged to honor complaints beyond this dispute period.


5. Turn-around-time for deliveries on Christmas, Holy Week, as well as other holidays, and on days affected by calamities and other force majeure events shall be recalculated using working days instead of calendar days.


6. In the event that the Principal cardholder is not available to receive the Real Thrills Rewards Gift requiring physical delivery, he/she must nominate an authorized representative to accept delivery of the item. A signed authorization letter in favor of the representative, plus valid IDs of both the Principal cardholder and representative, must be presented upon delivery.


7. BPI does not make any warranty, express or implied, with respect to any of the Real Thrills Rewards Gifts. Except as otherwise provided in these Terms and Conditions, any dispute concerning the quality or feature of the Real Thrills Rewards Gifts shall be settled directly between the cardholder and the supplier/merchant as may be provided in the supplier's/merchant’s warranty and/or terms and conditions.


D. Redemption Procedures


1. Redemption of Non-Electronic Gifts
Subject to extension on account of force majeure or such other events beyond the reasonable control of BPI, gift certificates, gift cards, cinema tickets, park admission tickets or actual gift items will be delivered to the Principal cardholder’s latest billing address of record, within the following period from receipt of valid redemption requests:
a. twelve (12) working days for addresses within Metro Manila; *
b. fifteen (15) working days for addresses within Cebu City and Davao City; and
c. twenty (20) working days for other areas.


*Metro Manila includes: Manila, Mandaluyong, Marikina, Pasig, Quezon City, San Juan, Las Pinas, Makati, Muntinlupa, Paranaque, Pasay, Tondo. During the rainy season, CAMANAVA area, which is composed of Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas and Valenzuela, as well as the cities of Pateros and Taguig, shall be classified as “other areas” for purposes of determining the delivery period.


2. Redemption of Electronic Rewards/ Gift Certificates


a. Subject to extension on account of force majeure or such other events beyond the reasonable control of BPI, gift certificates in the form of electronic vouchers with assigned eGift code will be delivered to the Principal cardholder's latest email address on record and/or mobile number, within seven (7) working days from receipt of a valid redemption request.


b. An eGift code may be assigned to any person at the Principal cardholder's discretion but may be used only once. Forwarding the electronic voucher via email or SMS, or such other means, would signify that the Principal cardholder has assigned his/her eGift code to the recipient. One who has possession of the eGift code shall be deemed to be the Principal cardholder or his/her authorized assignee.


c. The Principal cardholder, or his or her assignee as in the case of forwarded electronic vouchers, must provide the eGift code to the manager at the participating store for validation. The code may be relayed verbally, from a mobile phone, or in a printout. The store manager may ask the recipient to present a valid ID for recordkeeping purposes.


*Note: The BPI cardholders’ email address and mobile number provided must be the same as the information registered in BPI Credit Cards’ customer records. If the email address and mobile number do not match with BPI Credit Cards’ records, the cardholder will be required to update his or her contact information through any of the following channels:


  • Branches
  • 24-hour BPI Contact Center


3. Redemption of Membership Fee Waivers

Redemption of card membership fee will only be allowed after it has been charged to the cardholder’s account.


4. Redemption of Shopping Credits
Shopping Credits will be credited to the cardholder's nominated card as specified in the request or, if none, any active Real Thrills Rewards-earning card, within 5 to 7 working days.


5. Redemption of Investment
a. For BPI Asset Management & Trust Corp. (AMTC) item, confirmation of rewards redemption is not a guarantee of investment or of investment booking date. Final booking date will be the one reflected in the Transaction Advice, which confirms final investment details.
b. For BPI Investment Management Inc. (BIMI) item, conversion is subject to availability of mutual fund shares at the point of reward conversion.


6. Redemption of Donations
BPI will be responsible for handing over the donations to the cardholder’s chosen charitable institution. As a confirmation of the donation, the cardholder will receive an acknowledgement from the chosen charitable institution.


IV. Termination of the BPI Real Thrills Rewards Program

BPI reserves the right to suspend, terminate or discontinue at any time, and with notice, the BPI Real Thrills Rewards Program. In any such event, the cardholder agrees that BPI shall in no event be liable to the cardholder or to any person for any and all claims and damages arising from or in connection with the suspension, termination or discontinuance of the BPI Real Thrills Rewards Program.


V. Amendment

BPI may, at any time and for whatever reason it may deem proper, amend, revise or modify these Terms and Conditions and any such amendment, revision or modification shall bind the cardholder upon notice (personal, by publication or otherwise) or on the date of effectivity as specified in the notice, whichever is earlier. The cardholder’s availment or redemption of the rewards points will constitute cardholder’s acceptance to any such amendment, revision or modification of these Term and Conditions.
