Advisory: BPI Debit Mastercard Maintenance on July 23, 2022


We will undergo a scheduled systems maintenance activity for our BPI Debit Mastercard on July 23, 2022 (Saturday), 12:00 AM to 12:00 PM.


During this time, the following services will be temporarily unavailable:

  • BPI ATMs, Cash Accept Machines (CAMs), point-of-sale (POS) machines, and transactions with other banks’ ATMs and POS machines
  • E-commerce transactions
  • Card Control services via BPI Online and Mobile app (adjusting withdrawal or purchase limits, enabling or disabling international and e-commerce access, and temporary or permanent card blocking)
  • Online banking password reset using Debit Card  
  • Activation of Mobile Number Update via BPI Mobile app


Our BPI Debit EMV Cirrus Card (Red and Gold), Credit Card, and Prepaid Card services will remain accessible.

Frequently asked questions

When will the systems maintenance take place and which BPI services will be unavailable during the activity?

We will undergo a scheduled systems maintenance activity for our BPI Debit Mastercard on July 23, 2022 (Saturday), 12:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

During this time, the following services will be temporarily unavailable:

Who will be affected by the systems maintenance activity?

All clients with BPI Debit Mastercard.

Which BPI Prepaid Card and Credit Card services will be available?

a. Funded BPI Prepaid Cards will be available for in-store and online purchases, and withdrawals via BPI ATMs subject to service fees.
b. BPI Credit Cards will also be available for in-store and online purchases, and Cash Advance via BPI ATMs and non-BPI ATMs subject to Cash Advance fee and other applicable fees.

Will BPI Debit EMV Cirrus Card (Red and Gold) services be available?

Yes.

Will the branches be open to assist me?

We encourage you to plan ahead and schedule your branch visits and transactions before the systems maintenance. For your branch visit, you may check our branch schedule.

I have bills to pay on these dates. When and how should I pay them?

Please pay your bills ahead of the systems maintenance to avoid possible penalties and charges. You may also pay your bills using your BPI Prepaid Card or BPI Credit Card.

I have scheduled payments through BPI Auto Debit Arrangement (ADA) on that date. Will this maintenance affect my BPI ADA transactions?

No. Your payments enrolled in BPI ADA will still proceed as scheduled even if they fall on July 23, 2022. Please make sure your accounts are sufficiently funded.

Can I withdraw using my BPI Debit Mastercard from BPI ATMs and non-BPI ATMs during the system maintenance?

No. Please plan ahead and make your cash withdrawals at any time before 12:00 AM or after 12:00 PM on July 23, 2022.

Can I do international withdrawals?

a. For BPI Debit Mastercard, international services, including withdrawals, will not be available during the maintenance activity.    
b. For BPI EMV Cirrus Debit Card (Red and Gold), international services, including withdrawals, will be available during the maintenance activity. Please ensure that your International Access is enabled before transacting abroad.
c. For BPI Prepaid and Credit Cards, international services, including withdrawals and cash advances, will be available subject to applicable fees.

I have a non-BPI card (local or foreign), can I still use BPI ATMs?

Yes, you may use your non-BPI card to transact in BPI ATMs. The bank issuer may charge fees on top of BPI fees to process the transaction.

If I need money, in cases of emergency, what are my options?

Cash options:    
a. If you have a BPI Credit Card, you can do Cash Advance via BPI ATMs. You will need your PIN to activate the Cash Advance feature. This will be subject to a Cash Advance fee and other service fees.
b. If you have a pre-loaded ePay Mastercard/Visa Prepaid Card, you can withdraw via BPI ATMs. You will need your PIN to activate and proceed with your withdrawal. This will be subject to service fees.

Payment options:
    
a. You may use your BPI Credit Card for in-store and online purchases.
b. You may also use your pre-loaded retail or corporate ePay Mastercard/Visa and Amore Visa for in- store and online purchases.

We encourage you to plan accordingly and do your urgent transactions (CAM deposits, ATM withdrawals, and BPI Online and BPI Mobile app transactions) before the systems maintenance.
