Advisory: BPI Debit Mastercard Maintenance from September 4, 2021 to September 5, 2021


We will undergo a scheduled systems maintenance activity for our BPI Debit Mastercard from September 4, 2021 (Saturday), 11:00 PM, to September 5, 2021 (Sunday), 6:00 PM.


During this time, the following services will be temporarily unavailable:

  • Transactions via BPI ATMs, Cash Accept Machines (CAMs), point-of-sale (POS) machines, and other banks’ ATMs and POS machines
  • E-Commerce transactions
  • Card Control services via BPI Online and Mobile app (adjusting withdrawal or purchase limits, enabling or disabling international and e-commerce access, and temporary or permanent card blocking)
  • Password reset using debit card
  • Activation of Mobile Number Update via BPI Mobile app


Our BPI Debit EMV Cirrus Card (Red and Gold), Credit Card, and Prepaid Card services will remain accessible.

Frequently asked questions

When will the scheduled systems maintenance activity take place?

Our systems maintenance activity will be from September 4, 2021 (Saturday), 11:00 PM, to September 5, 2021 (Sunday), 6:00 PM.

Who will be affected by the systems maintenance activity?

All clients with a BPI Debit Mastercard.

Which BPI Debit Mastercard services will be unavailable during the activity?

1. Transactions via BPI ATMs, Cash Accept Machines (CAMs), point-of-sale (POS) machines, and other banks’ ATMs and POS machines.
2. E-Commerce transactions
3. Card Control services via BPI Online and BPI Mobile app (adjusting withdrawal or purchase limits, enabling or disabling international and e-commerce access, and temporary or permanent card blocking)
4. Password reset using Debit Card
5. Activation of Mobile Number Update via BPI Mobile app

Will BPI Prepaid and Credit Card services be available?

Yes.

BPI Debit EMV Cirrus Card (Red and Gold) services be available?

Yes.

Will the branches be open to assist me?

Branches are open on September 3, Friday, before the system maintenance, and will open again on September 6, 2021, Monday, after the said activity. With this, we highly encourage you to plan ahead and schedule transactions before the maintenance activity.

I have bills to pay during that date. When and how should I pay them?

We encourage you to pay your bills ahead of the systems maintenance activity to avoid possible penalties and charges.

I have scheduled payments enrolled in BPI electronic Auto Debit Arrangement (ADA) during those dates. Will this downtime affect my BPI ADA transactions?

No. Your payments enrolled in BPI ADA will still proceed as scheduled even if they fall on September 4 or September 5. Please make sure that your accounts are sufficiently funded.

Can I withdraw using my BPI Debit Mastercard from BPI and non-BPI ATMs during the maintenance activity?

No. Please plan ahead and make your cash withdrawals at any time before 11PM on September 4, 2021, or after 6PM on September 5, 2021.

Can I do international withdrawals?

a. For BPI Debit Mastercard, international services, including withdrawals, will not be available during the maintenance activity.
b. For BPI EMV Cirrus Debit Card (Red and Gold), international services, including withdrawals, will be available during the maintenance activity.
 

If I need money, in case of an emergency, what are my options?

Cash Options
a. You may use your BPI Credit Card in BPI ATMs to make a Cash Advance. Please note that standard Cash Advance fees will apply.
b. You may use your BPI Prepaid Card in BPI ATMs. Service fees may apply.
c. You may use your BPI Debit EMV Cirrus Card (Red and Gold) in BPI ATMs.

Payment Options
a. You may use your BPI Credit Card for in-store and online purchases.
b. You may use your BPI Prepaid Card for in-store and online purchases.
c. You may use your BPI Debit EMV Cirrus Card (Red and Gold) for in-store purchases.
 
We encourage you to plan ahead and schedule your transactions or withdraw cash prior to the maintenance activity.

I have a non-BPI card (Local or Foreign), can I still use BPI ATMs?

Yes. You may use your non-BPI card to transact in BPI ATMs. We recommend that you plan your transactions prior to the scheduled downtime. Your bank issuer may charge fees on top of BPI fees to process your transaction.
